Baloxavir marboxil is used to treat flu in those who have had its symptoms for not more than 48 hours.
Take Baloxavir marboxil exactly as directed by your doctor or according to the instructions on the label. Do not take more or less than instructed by your doctor.
You may take this medicine with or without food.
This medicine is to be taken as a single dose only.
Do not take Baloxavir marboxil if you ever had an allergic reaction (e.g. rashes, breathlessness, swollen eyes) to this medicine or any of its ingredients.
Let your doctor know if you are pregnant or breastfeeding.
Inform your doctor if you have been recently vaccinated. Do not receive any vaccinations without first asking your doctor.
Baloxavir marboxil may cause any of the following side effects: headache, nausea, vomiting, and diarrhoea.
If you develop rashes, breathlessness, swollen mouth or eyes, stop taking this medicine and inform your doctor immediately. These could be signs of an allergic reaction.
Inform your doctor if any of these side effects do not go away or are severe, or if you experience other side effects.
Do not take Baloxavir marboxil with products containing calcium, iron, magnesium, selenium, or zinc.
Always notify your doctor and pharmacist if you are taking any other medicines, including herbal tonics such as traditional Chinese medicines, supplements and medicines that you buy without a prescription.
Avoid alcohol.
Do not take Baloxavir marboxil with dairy products (e.g. milk, cheese, yoghurt or ice cream) as dairy products may reduce the effectiveness of this medicine when taken at the same time.
Store in a cool, dry place away from the reach of children.
Medicines must not be used past the expiry date.
